Siracusa
More than any other city in Sicily, Syracuse embodies the timeless beauty of the region. Ancient Greek ruins are located in the heart of lush citrus groves, the café tables are affaccianosu beautiful baroque squares and medieval streets descending towards the sparkling turquoise sea. But as beautiful, this city is chaotic, as you can see from the morning traffic and noisy markets.
Ortigia
An intricate network of narrow streets full of atmosphere and elegant squares. Along its narrow streets are lined beautiful buildings, restaurants and cafes, while its central square, Piazza del Duomo, is one of the most spectacular of all the squares Siclia. This area, reached via the New Bridge, is easily explored on foot.

Fiume Ciane
From May to September you can take a boat trip on the River Cyane. According to mythology, the source of the river was created by the tears shed by the nymph Cyane for the abduction of Persephone by Hades. The habitat of the river, along whose banks grows lush papyrus, is unique and protected because it is the only place, outside of North Africa, where this plant, originally given to Hiero II by Ptolemy, grows naturally. Along the river are the ruins dell'Olympeion, a temple dating back to the sixth century BC. The boarding point is located on the SS115 to 5 miles from Syracuse - from the city follow the signs to Palazzo Acreide.
